ok so we woke up a little early this morning, we (eve, alec and i) had it in our heads that rainbow was hours away, so we woke up really early (7am) to get on the road as they needed to be there by 4pm for their briefing at dingos hostel. We were wrong. I got talking to the owner of the hostel whilst we were trying to jump start this backpackers car in the car park and he told me it was only 2 hours away...so then we had breakfast, well i had breakfast like a german, there was cheese, toast, jam, cereal, lamington cake, tea, coffee, mango, pineapple, apples......i didn't need to eat again until 4:30 that evening.
I let Alec drive some of the way to rainbow. He drives like a granny. Oh my god.
So we arrive at the dingos hostel, its lovely. There is $4 dinner on tonight, spaghetti bolognese and salad. Its a great idea because not only does it feed us, but we all congregate to eat dinner, therefore meeting people. This hostel does self drive tours on fraser so its a really good way to get to know your group before you go. The bar is good, they do killer pool competitions etc.
I met some Irish guys who were hilarious, they were complaining about three asians who had arrived on their fraser tour and had only brought 6 bottles of toohey's between the three of them!!!!! disaster!
The beach in rainbow beach is lovely. The water is crystal clear with some wicked waves!!!
